Arizona Immigration Law

Via reader Lance comes this e-mail. It's a simple guide to understanding Arizona's new law regarding illegal immigration. I will have some comments following.

If you had tickets to a sports event, concert, Disneyland, or on an airplane, and when you got to your assigned seat, and someone else was in that seat, what would you do? You would call for a person in charge of ticket checking and have the person in your seat removed. You would be properly asked to show your ticket, and you would gladly and proudly do so, for you have bought and paid for that seat. The person in your seat would also be asked for a ticket, and they would not be able to produce one. They would be called "gate crashers" and they would be properly removed.

Now in this huge stadium called the USA we have had millions of gate crashers. We have been asking security to check for tickets and remove the
gate crashers. We have been asking security to have better controls in checking at the door. We have asked security to lock the back doors. Security has failed us. They are still looking the other way. They are afraid to ask to see the tickets. Many people say there is unlimited seating, and whether there is or not, no one should be allowed in for free while the rest of us pay full price!

In section
AZ, of Stadium USA, we have had enough of the failures of Security. We have decided to do our own ticket checking, and properly remove those who do not have tickets. Now it seems very strange to me that so many people in the other 49 sections, and even many in our own section do not want tickets checked, or even be asked to show their ticket! Even the head of Security is chastising us, while not doing his own job which he has sworn to do.

My own ticket has been bought and paid for so I am going to proudly show it when asked to do so. I have a right to my seat, and I want the gate crashers to be asked to show their tickets too. The only reason that I can imagine anyone objecting to being asked for their ticket is that they are in favor of gate crashing, and all of the illegal activities that go with it. Such as
drug smuggling, gang wars, murder, human smuggling for profit, and many more illegal and inhumane acts that we are trying to prevent with our new legislation. Is that what I am hearing from all of the protesters such as Phoenix Mayor Gordon, US Rep. Grijalva, even President Obama? If you are not in favor of showing tickets, (proof of citizenship, passport, green card, or other legal document) when asked, as I would proudly do, then you must be condoning those illegal activities.
Okay, so I think this is a pretty good analogy. Let me be clear about something, though, for anyone who thinks this bill is about racial profiling and card checks - IT'S NOT!!! There are provisions in the bill which specifically prohibit racial profiling. This is not like in Nazi Germany where you could be stopped on the street and asked for your papers if you didn't have blonde hair and blue eyes. We're talking about, for example, someone gets pulled over for a traffic violation and asked for ID (nothing new there), and said person cannot provide proof of citizenship or even being here legally, so therefore gets booked for being an illegal alien (which, by the way, makes them a CRIMINAL), forcing law enforcement to cut through all the legal bovine excrement red tape in order to send them back where they belong.

There is already federal law on the book that allows the feds to do the same thing AZ's new law now allows state LE to do - secure our country. People need to quit complaining about something that didn't really change anything except jurisdiction.

This all brings to mind a video, via ol' broad. READ THE BILL!

The War on Guns: Now This One P****s Me Off

As it should. These officers, especially those who appear to be feds, are out of line. They don't even know the law. They seem to be mad about "contempt of cop" even thought it is respectfully done. Three men tie up 17 officers without breaking any laws. And we wonder why crime stays high . . .
Watch the video. Share it.

The saga continues with one of the men being arrested on bogus charges.

Via Sipsey Street comes this video.

This, my friends, is why we are in the situation we are in. We have a bunch of people who have been dumbed down by our education system and the media. They have no desire to learn truth or reason, but merely want their share of your things, and they'll vote for whoever promises them free lunch. I have to question how Savage was as kind as he was in this video. This kind of stuff makes me start thinking about throwing some bleach into the gene pool. Oh well, when the excrement hits the impeller, people like this have already set themselves up to be the first wave to die off. No outside action required. I hope and pray we can talk sense into some of them before it's too late.

Public Option - Not Dead, Just Hidden

So says Longstreet in another must-read post. Make sure to give it a read and think about what he says.

Public Option Not Dead

Sipsey Street Irregulars: Paranoid? Yep, we're as "paranoid" as the Founders.

Sipsey Street Irregulars: Paranoid? Yep, we're as "paranoid" as the Founders.

Read the whole thing. It gives a real perspective on where America is yet again in the big scheme of things. Here is a short excerpt:

"As early as 1775 Edmund Burke had noted in the House of Commons that the colonists’ intensive study of law and politics had made them acutely inquisitive and sensitive about their liberties. Where the people of other countries had invoked principles only after they had endured “an actual grievance,” the Americans, said Burke, were anticipating their grievances and resorting to principles even before they actually suffered. “They augur misgovernment at a distance and snuff the approach of tyranny in every tainted breeze.” The crucial questions in the colonists’ minds, wrote John Dickinson in 1768, was “not, what evil HAS ACTUALLY ATTENDED particular measures -- but, what evil, in the nature of things, IS LIKELY TO ATTEND THEM.” Because “nations, in general, are not apt to THINK until they FEEL, . . . Therefore nations in general have lost their liberty.” But not the Americans, as the Abbe Raynal observed. They were an “enlightened people” who knew their rights and the limits of power and who, unlike any people before them, aimed to think before they felt. -- Gordon S. Woods, The Creation of the American Republic, 1776 - 1787, Chapter One, “The Whig Science of Politics,” pp. 3-5."

Golf Balls and a Pistol

So, I've been wanting to post this for about 3 weeks, but have been sorely lacking for both time and energy.
I got the itching to shoot the .40 at targets smaller than soda cans, and I just happened to have some golf balls from another project I had worked on, so I decided that would be some decent fun. Now I had two questions: Could I hit a golf ball at 7 yards with a sub-compact .40, and what would it do to a golf ball if I could. Well, I discovered that I could hit them. So, to satisfy my quest for an answer to the second question, I shot 6 golf balls. Three with FMJ, three with JHP. Next are pictures.

I was pretty amazed at the self-healing capabilities of the golf balls. Still, you can tell the JHP rounds did more damage and left a more permanent wound. Of course, it was rather fun watching the first ball fly back 20 feet into the tree line after being hit.

To wrap it up, I will end in the manner of those at The Box O' Truth.

Lessons learned:
1. It takes a lot of practice to hit a golf ball consistently with a handgun.
2. Golf balls can not only take a beating, but also a good shooting.
3. It's fun to shoot stuff.

Law and Sedition

Two good reads, definitely enough to get the mind working and questioning old thought processes. Take a look.

You are in AMERICA!

This is a link to a search results page, you'll have to click on and read the articles about students being thrown out of school for sporting American flag clothing.

This outrages me. If you live in America, you don't have the right to be upset at someone who displays the American flag. What really drives me nuts is that the articles report that one of the Mexican girls said they would never display a Mexican flag on July 4. Seems to me I've heard stories about precisely that happening, and it only took 15 seconds to find this:

From Longstreet,
First a history lesson, definitely worth your time, at least if you have an open mind.

Yep, more proof that public school is a socialist prison/indoctrination center. If you can get your kids out, do it.
